What Your Sharing When Sending A Project File - Snap Captions 2

👋 Hey there, if you’re reading this, than you’re probably wondering,

What am I sharing when I send the project file?

Project files will allow us to fix the bug you experience, ASAP. That’s why we ask for them 🙂

This quick article explains exactly what data we receive, so you can ensure you’re not sharing anything you don’t want to.

Why We Need a Project File

Simply put, the FASTEST way for us to fix a bug you experience, is to replicate it on our side.

A project file is fantastic for this as it:

  1. Gives us the information to fix your bug… FAST!
  2. Only shares what’s necessary for us.

What are you sharing in a project file:

As you can see from the above images, we can see the captions you create, but not the original media it’s created from.

What we do with your project file?

We STRICTLY only use your project file to:

  • Understand your workflow
  • Replicate Snap Caption bugs

We take your data seriously

We take care to use the data you send us responsibly, we have strict procedures so your project files are not:

  • Shared with anyone outside of our development team
  • Seen only by those who need to.

The quick checklist:

Here’s a quick checklist if you just need an overview.

Project file contains

  • Subtitle tracks
  • Fusion Compositions
  • Project Settings
  • Timeline Settings

Project file doesn’t contain

  • Media files like:
    • Video
    • Audio

The quick question to ask :

Is there anything confidential transcribed in your project?
Is there anything confidential, generated as text+ caption?
Is there any fusion compositions or templates you don’t want outside people to see?
Is there any file names attached you don’t want people to see?

If you said no to the above, then 👍

If you said no to the above, you’re probably safe to check that little box and send your project file to us.
