Why I built Snap Pod?
Orson Lord
YouTuber, Video Producer
My first automation, Snap Captions, was built to help save time.Captioning was time consuming and tedious work, and it’s practically unavoidable. But there’s a limitation with this workflow. It helps professionals by saving money, but it doesn’t necessarily help them charge higher prices.
And if we’re real for a second, I think editors are one of the most underpaid skillsets in our industry.
So I want to help Resolve editors land better paying work, not just save time on the work you already have right now. And this means, bringing the better work to us.
One of the better paying niches I’ve experienced and personally witnessed from other editors, is editing podcasts.
And I fully believe DaVinci Resolve would be the best editor for podcasts, except it’s missing 1 critical feature. And because of this, podcast editing is dominated by a different video editing software, but lets not name names and keep on point.
I think this is wrong, DaVinci Resolve is perfect for multi-cam podcasts, their software is more stable, we have better cloud features for collaborations, and it seamlessly ties in with black-magic’s physical hardware and multi-cam systems.
So I’ve made it my goal to make DaVinci Resolve THE choice of video editing software for podcasts.
